ALARM INSURANCE
PRIVACY NOTICE.
ALARM INSURANCE
shares your
concerns for privacy and security. Accordingly, to guard your
nonpublic personal information and ensure confidentiality, we
maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards. When
you request a quote, view or change your information through
our website, it is encrypted as it travels between your
computer and our server, preventing third parties from being
able to read any information while it is in transit.
Additionally, we permit only authorized employees, who are
trained in the proper handling of our customer information, to
have access to that information. ALARM INSURANCE is committed
to ongoing testing and updating of our technology and security
measures to protect information about you.
The following explains our policy towards customer and former
customer information privacy and other procedures for keeping
your personal information confidential.
Information Collection In order to provide services that meet
your needs, we collect nonpublic personal information about
you from a variety of sources, such as the following:
* Applications and other forms you submit to us, including by
phone or the Internet;
* Your transactions with us, our affiliates, and others, such
as payment history, account balance, bank account number, or
policy coverage information;
* Consumer credit reporting agencies, such as creditworthiness
or credit score, for example, to determine eligibility for
payment plan options;
Information Use and Disclosure We do not share nonpublic
personal information about our customers or former customers
with nonaffiliated companies except as illustrated below, and
as otherwise permitted or required by law.
In the process of maintaining your policies with us, or in
providing services or products to you, we may disclose certain
personal information about you. For example, we may disclose
information to:
* Other insurance and financial service companies affiliated
with ALARM INSURANCE;
* Companies that perform marketing services on our behalf, or
to companies with whom we have joint marketing agreements,
including information such as name, address, telephone number,
or policy number;
* Companies or persons at your request;
* Businesses that provide services to us for underwriting,
processing payments or changes to your policy, or to assist us
with adjusting claims;
* Insurance institutions to detect or prevent fraud and
criminal activity;
* Insurance regulators and other governmental entities as
required by law;
When we use outside services or other financial institutions
to assist with our marketing programs, we do not permit them
to use our customer information for any other purpose. Any
disclosure of your policy number shall only be to a recipient
authorized by law, and only in connection with informing you
about our own products or services. We will not disclose your
policy number or personal information to a nonaffiliated third
party for marketing purposes of any kind, including
telemarketing, direct mail marketing, or electronic mail
marketing.
We do not share credit information, such as creditworthiness,
credit standing, credit capacity or credit score received from
a credit-reporting agency with anyone. Under the Fair Credit
Reporting Act (FCRA) we are, however, permitted to share
information about your transactions or experiences with us
(such as payment history) with our affiliated companies.
We subscribe to certain insurance support organizations that
maintain policyholder information. Information that we obtain
from an insurance support organization may be retained by that
organization and disclosed to other persons.
If at a later date we intend to disclose information that is
different from that described above, you will receive a
revised privacy notice and, if applicable, an opportunity to
opt out before we make any such disclosure.
Our policies and practices regarding the collection, use and
disclosure of information about former customers are the same
as those regarding the collection, use and disclosure about
existing customers.
